Missed Appointments

A fee of $25 will apply if a patient fails to attend two appointments, a letter notifying of the first missed appointment will be mailed to the patient. This fee is required to be paid prior to any more appointments being available to the patient.

Bulk Billing

Bulk Billing is available for Concession Card holders, DVA Card holders and children under 15 years of age following the first paid consultation.  A consultation fee will apply to all new patients to the practice without exception. After Hours Service

Bridgeside Medical Centre provides a full after hours service by qualified Doctors, call us on 02 9252 2200 for more information or call Sydney Medical Service HOME GP on (02) 8724 6300. This service is available to Practice Patients only.

We offer home visits within walking distance of the practice at the discretion of the Doctor.

Test Results

We recommend that all patients make a follow up appointment with their Doctor to discuss the results of any tests they may have.

Medical Certificates

In order to obtain a Medical Certificate, you must make an appointment to see one of our Doctors, unfortunately Certificates cannot be backdated.

Management of Privacy and your Personal Health Information

Your personal health information is collected and used directly in association with your health care. It is kept confidential and our practice maintains the security of medical records in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act. Our Receptionist will ask you to present a copy of your Medicare Card and ask a few personal questions such as date of birth and address to verify your identity prior to you seeing a Doctor.

Reminder and Recall System

Our practice is committed to preventative care. With your permission, we may issue you with a reminder notice for preventative health services appropriate to your care such as Pap smears, Immunisations.

Medicare Rebates

If you have Medicare, we are able to process your refund at the time of your consultation using Medicare easyclaim

Emergency Appointments

We always have appointments available for emergencies, please advise Reception at the time of your call that you feel you need an emergency appointment.

Work Cover

The Doctors at Bridgeside Medical Centre are very familiar with the appropriate management of worker’s compensation cases and appreciate the need to return to work as soon as possible with suitable restrictions in place if necessary.

If you have injured yourself at work, you will need to notify your employer as soon as possible.

If your visit is covered by Workers Compensation or a third party, please advise reception staff at the time of making your appointment.

We welcome your views on your experience while visiting our centre. if you wish to make a complaint, or give us a compliment, there are a number of ways for you to do this.

Complaints

If you are not happy with any aspect of your care whilst visiting us, we would like to hear about it so that we may improve our services and respond to your complaint.
We suggest the following options for you to raise your complaint:

1. Discuss the problem with your Doctor,
2. Complete a feedback form which can be obtained from reception.
